The Bloom Foundation

Educating Future Leaders: The Madam Nena Elesie Ukariwo Scholarship Program in Action - Video Testimonials

November 20, 2025  /  Ureh Lekwauwa

Every dream begins with a foundation of opportunity. At The Bloom Health Foundation, Nigeria, we are honored to steward the Madam Nena Elesie Ukariwo Scholarship - a living tribute to our founder's grandmother, whose name symbolizes the very essence of nurturing and community.

This program was born in 2021 from a critical need in Abiriba, where promising students faced being sent home due to an inability to pay fees. We started with 23 scholars, restoring their access to education by covering not just tuition, but every essential—from textbooks and uniforms to WAEC fees and healthcare. We built a covenant with them, rooted in high expectations for academic performance, character, and community service, supported by ongoing mentorship.

Today, we witness the incredible yield of that investment. The original cohort has graduated, and our current scholars are forging paths that will transform their communities. We are immensely proud to support five students in higher education who are now studying to become the nurses, engineers, business leaders, and diplomats of tomorrow.

This is more than a scholarship; it is an inter-generational commitment to empowerment. Don't just take our word for it - hear their stories directly. In the videos below, two of our scholars share their journeys, a powerful testament to how a single opportunity can bloom into a lifetime of potential.
